I have observed that one of the most versatile gadgets in my kitchen is my hand blender otherwise known as the Immersion Blender.

Oh My! isn’t this equipment functional and efficient?

There are days I do not want to do all the chopping, and the immersion blender is incredibly convenient and  makes cooking faster, easier and a lot more enjoyable.

I Love the hand blender because of its versatility and that is the most appealing point of the hand blender.

You can perform multiple tasks with it. Purchasing it will not make you bankrupt they are relatively inexpensive.

If you are interested in checking out the reviews and current pricing you can find them over here on Amazon.

They do not take up too much space in the kitchen because it is compact. They are a great investment for your kitchen.

A clean kitchen is everyone’s dream, with a hand blender the cleaning time is cut down and who would not love that?

You do not need to transfer what you are making into another kitchen appliance for blending, chopping or mixing;

Here is a couple of things you can make using the hand blender.

At the top of the list is a salsa. Salsa is a favorite for many to use as a dip.

It is not a difficult dish to make but with a hand blender the process is faster. Where most people get it wrong is leaving chunks of tomatoes in the salsa.

The consistency provided by the hand blender will ensure that your salsa has a smooth finish.

People make their salsa’s differently so you are allowed to add anything to yours so that you can get the taste you desire.

In a beaker that came with the hand blender or a tall narrow dish put in tomatoes, onion, garlic, jalapeño, cilantro, salt and pepper in a tall narrow dish and move the hand blender up and down while you blend until you have a smooth salsa.

A pro tip is that you should put the tomatoes at the top of the beaker as you place your ingredients.

It is easier for the blender to break down the tomatoes when they are at the top and it will also add some liquid to the salsa so the other ingredients can blend with ease.

The other thing you can make is pesto this is a basil and walnut pesto.

Place the walnuts, basil, garlic, salt and pepper in a jar and use the hand blender to break everything down into a rough, chunky paste.

Once you have that chunky paste slowly drizzle in olive oil and continue to blend till the basil walnut pesto is smooth.

For you to add fresh flavors in your basil and walnut pesto you can mix in lime juice and it keeps the color of your pesto bright green.

However adding the lime juice is optional. You can use your pesto as a spread for sandwiches, on salads, or as a pasta sauce, on chicken and salmon.

It has the power to save a sauce that does not look appealing.

Case and point the cheese sauce which goes with a mac and cheese.

While making the cheese sauce and the cheese does not melt properly, you can end up with an unappetizing sauce.

Using a hand blender can change your lumpy sauce to a smooth, cheese filled sauce.

The hand blender has been to transform the texture of soups, but as you have seen it can do more than that.

Even though you can use the hand blender for other culinary purposes but making creamy, delicious soups is a hand blenders most frequent culinary adventure.

It will enable you to make smooth, velvety soups if that is your preference.

There are a myriad of options from butternut squash and goat cheese soup, a simple classic pumpkin soup, vegan roasted red pepper soup, creamy apple tomato soup and broccoli white cheddar soup.

Keep your soup recipes in sight especially for those winter days.

Pancakes and Waffles

Who does not like pancakes or waffles? The problem comes in when you are making the batter but the hand blender is here to save the day.

You can put your whisk away and let the hand blender do the work for you.

The plastic beaker that comes with your hand blender has a built-in spout and it is the perfect size for you to make your pancake or waffle batter.

It does not take too much of your time it takes up to around five seconds to mix everything up and it is lump-free.

This is the easiest way for you to make your pancakes and waffles batter.

Toss in the ingredients you use to make your favorite pancake batter into the beaker and up-down-up-down blend away until you have a smooth batter.

Pour the batter directly from the beaker onto a hot griddle or waffle maker.  Avoid lumpy batters by using the hand blender.

You can even make cake batter with it.

Smoothies

Smoothies are another common thing made using a hand blender. It is a hand blender breakfast breakthrough.

The full-on blender for one single breakfast smoothie seems like a tedious task, you will need a lot more dishes making the cleanup process longer than it should be.

With the hand blender it is touch and go. Just toss the frozen fruits of your choice, yogurt cubes or ice cubes and the seeds you like into the beaker.

Add in just enough water to cover all the fruits and up-down-up-down blend away until you have a smoothie.

All you need to do is wash off the hand blender then stick a straw right in the beaker, and you can have your smoothie without using a lot of dishes.

When you do not have access to a nutribullet this a good alternative to make your smoothies, when it comes to making smoothies that have a lot leafy greens and vegetables. The ones with spinach can be easily handled by the hand blender.

Sauces

Tomato sauce is a must have in your home, homemade tomato sauce is so easy to make and you can turn it into an activity that you do with the children.

If you have a lot of tomatoes to spare you can make your homemade tomato sauce using your hand blender that you can use throughout the year.

Make your own tasty tomato sauce which is fun and a better alternative to the store bought option.

All you need to do is to wash the tomatoes, dice them either quarters or halves so that they are all about the same size.

Fill the pot with the tomatoes.

On medium heat let the tomatoes cook for over an hour until tomatoes have reduced.

Remove the pot from heat and let cool 10 to 15 minutes.

Then use your hand blender to get your desired consistency. You do not have to peel or seed the tomatoes it does not affect the taste or texture of your homemade tomato sauce.

It is possible to make whipped cream using a mixer but we are trying to save on using a lot of dishes.

With a mixer you have to dirty a bowl and the attachments and then transfer the whipped cream into a smaller container or serving container for storage.

With a hand blender that has a whisk attachment gives you more control of how light, airy your whipped cream will be.

Too much whisking will make your whipped cream unpalatable. You can add flavours to your whipped cream such as strawberry or vanilla.

You do not have a food processor and you need to chop nuts or grind seeds? You can chop up nuts and even grind seeds with your  blender.

Homemade mayonnaise is a delicious addition to your kitchen but if you choose to whisk it can be a dreadful thing to make.
